Signed from York, and now a Hatter until at least the end of the 2011/12 season, midfielder Alex Lawless combines comfort on the ball with an eye for goal, scoring eight last term. This tally included a cracking effort at Wrexham in the playoff semi-final, however like Robbie Willmott, Alex has had the misfortune of losing out in more than one playoff final – first with York, then with us. And that’s a crime, given he would more than hold his own in league football.
